A large group of people participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a train station, with the sign 'WINDSOR' above them. The group is standing on a platform, some holding a gold ribbon, with banners and trees in the background.

This new station in Windsor helps strengthens community bonds, provides access to greener forms of travel, fosters social connections, and contributes to a more environmentally responsible North Bay.

Below is a collection of marketing and outreach materials I have created for this event.

The Grand Opening of Windsor Station.

From the Beginning…

It all begins with an idea. The idea behind this campaign came from an old SMART T-shirt I found in a box. The back said “There’s a Train Coming to Town!” From there, I knew there was a story that could be told.

Connecting with the community.

Making content that connects with the targeted audience is very important to me. I knew I wanted to do more than just throw information in peoples faces. I wanted to go father than that, I wanted to actually connect with the community of Windsor. So I reached out to local police officials, fire officials, and the mayor to make more compelling content.

English

Spanish

is key.

In addition to public figures within the community, I reached out to the everyday people of Windsor. I was able to collaborate with their marketing team and make more personable and fun content.

Collaboration

Two people standing in front of a sign at Windsor Station, smiling. The sign reads 'Windsor Station Sonoma Marin SMART Area Rail Transit'.

Do you have “Train Brain”? I reached out to the local business owners in the town of Windsor to make fun safety content that would be shared to our socials, but more importantly, to catch the eyes of the residence of Windsor.

Train Trivia

I reached out to the local high school to collaborate on a safety outreach video. I connected with the local high schoolers and filmed with the school compliance officer to make a short video for their morning announcements.

Safety Outreach

Start of Revenue Service

This will be the first time passenger rail service has been offered in this area in over 65 years. It was important to get the message out in a big way.

Events

Leading up to the grand opening, I was apart of many events. I assisted with scheduling, gathering volunteers, organizing swag, and engaging with the public about SMART.

Welcome to the Grand Opening Celebration of Windsor Station!

Many months of planning, outreach efforts, and great anticipation, the grand opening is finally here!

I was very proud to be a part of this historic event in transit history.
